This is the first time I make a so detailed and big background. And I must admit that enjoy the result but got tired really fast of making plants and stones (that's why I left it a bit abandoned). I think I should add even more leaves and plants to it but I don't want to... -__-
This pic was inspired by the song by Opeth called Windowpane ([link]), concretely from the 5:50 to the 6:30 minute.
I just love their dark and rainy songs, and I highly recommend you to listen to them
Thanks for viewing and as always, hope you like it!
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Photoshop CS, Painter X. no ref (just serached some pics of raining in rainforest for the colours and plants)
I really like the composition, and how you have put her sort of in the background but the plants around her really make her the center of focus.
The rain effect is nicely done as well, and I like that you made the leaves seem a bit droopy as they would be in a heavy rain.
The anatomy looks pretty good to me, and I love the pose and clothing. You did a really spot on job with that. The ivy trailing around her is really perfectly done as well.
The only thing that seems a bit off to me is the coloring. It seems really washed out, and all that gray, white and black really makes it feel flat.
The lighting is really great though, I just think a little work on the color theory of this one would improve it a lot.
I'm totally in love with that one. I love the way you draw, and I just love how she looks here and not there at the same time. And, I just totally love the background and the flowers you drew on her
